Forney ISD approved a lower tax rate during its August 07, 2023 meeting.

At the end of the May 16 meeting, Trustee Barbara Jo Green announced her desire to resign, citing health and family reasons. The board accepted her resignation.
She then suggested Mr. Idemudia as a replacement - the board reviewed his resume, then approved appointing Dr. Michael Idemudia for the remainder of her term.

Aug. 08, 2022 meeting Forney ISD announced dedication of City Bank media suite (press box), and the names for four new schools.

FISD announced a new dress code on June 20, 2022 with some unexpected changes: no hoodies, and no skirts for 5th grade and higher.

May 09, 2022 Forney ISD Board recognized many students, considered bond counsel, buying equipment for Elementary #10, The OC, and some land.
