Forney EDC prepares to claw-back Victorian Village
During its regular Dec. 12, 2019 meeting, the Forney Economic Development Corp. met to reclaim Victorian Village property:
- Brief exchange of seasonal cards and gifts, paid for with personal funds.
- Financial report: Mr. Burrus said 16% in FY, 2% ahead on sales tax.
- Executive Director's report: Mr. Ketteman said Nov. 19 hosted EDC folks from other areas, sales tax training in Mesquite which they must attend every 2 years, TC also attended; Kaufman Chamber leadership class, inspector Shannon Stevens went to talk about Forney growth; had 2nd visit from Project Calcite, Forney is on short-list of maybe 5; Dallas Business Journal listed Forney as one of "hottest 'hoods"; working on business retention program; Lowe's has a new manager they will meet with tomorrow; Mr. McBeth commended Mr. Ketteman for his re-certification.
- Re: the new website, and development map and guide - Mr. McGregor said website should be done Feb, still working on maps, finished marketing video, which was then shown.
- Held a 74-minute executive session re:
- Authorized a maximum of $120k to secure an assignment of deed of trust and exercise option to reacquire property known as Victorian Village.
